These beautiful knives are both designed and made by Mr Hiroaki Masui in Seki City. Hiroaki trained as a designer which is evident when looking at his knives. He originally was in partnership with his brother but established his own business in 1991. Initially he was focusing on producing pocket and hunting knives but in recent years he has made these unique and stunning kitchen knives. These knives with black micarta and turquoise handles are constructed of 100 layers of steel with a cutting core of VG10 in the centre. This medium sized handmade multi-layered chef’s knife is ideal for the preparation of large vegetables, fruit, boneless meats, fish and herbs.
